Sculptural 18th century Italian ribbon fragment with natural-forming baroque pearls on a selenite slab.

The Italian ribbon fragment original came from an Italian church. It is adorned with baroque pearls and placed onto the selenite slab. Selenite is a transparent mineral that is a form of gypsum. It was used to create the windows of the Santa Sabina Basilica in Rome, Italy during the 5th century, hence the name "Window Pane Selenite."

The elements create a unique piece of old and new. The chic and sleek mineral specimen combined with the Italian fragment creates a historical yet contemporary work of art. Rococo meets organic modern.
