18th century Italian cross adorned with native copper with crystals from White Pine Mine, Michigan and copper-plated kyanite on a crystal druzy in copper ore matrix base. The crucifix originally came from a church in Tuscany.

The White Pine Mine is world-famous for its superb groups of copper with its crystal formations. There are only four specimens known and they are all included on this crucifix. These are the same type of specimens found in the reference collection of the Seaman Mineral Museum.

The Italian crucifix is persevered and transformed into a new work of old and new with the precious minerals - interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
