18th century Italian candlestick top decorated with polished agate coral and a natural forming baroque pearl.

The hand-carved, 18th century candlestick top originally came from a candlestick from a church in Tuscany. It sits on an antique drip pan metal tray and the agate coral is mounted on top. Agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when coral is gradually replaced with agate. These then go through a 48-hour polishing process to achieve the effect.

The Italian church candlestick top artifact, agate coral, and baroque pearl are put together in a sculptural form - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
